The facilities the children lived in previously were “spartan”, to say the least! They lived, ate and slept in the same room (above) and their bathroom/ toilet facility was even worse.

Owing to the lack of land, we decided to build upwards on an existing building. The ground floor housed Pastor G. S. Enoch and family and the church meets on the first floor, which can seat around 250 people. We decided to build an extra storey to house the children since they were living in an outhouse at the rear of the house.  Building upwards also had the advantage of not requiring land, new foundations, and separate power and water supplies.

You can see the vast improvement in facilities and you can just imagine how happy the children are to have moved into their new accommodation. The house will accommodate 20 children as well as a carer and has only been possible because of the sacrificial giving and fund raising activities of No Limits supporters. The children asked us to thank everyone who contributed. Of course, I often think of the vast needs in India and wonder if we can make any real difference. However, I am reminded that we can at least make a difference for the 20 children that will use this facility and I think it is £15,000 well spent!

Here you can see one of the two dormitories (boys and girls) and below that you can see one of the two bathrooms (boys and girls). There is also a kitchen, laundry area, separate toilets and a dining room. The dormitories have ceiling fans and all safety precautions have been taken in view of the accommodation being on the second floor.

You cannot begin to imagine the joy that I felt as I reported these things to our supporters in the USA in April. The Lord never fails to amaze me in what lengths He will go to for the poor and needy - that is where His heart is.  I’m certain it will bring even greater joy to us as Jean and I travel to India in July for the official opening and dedication of the facility. We will also be visiting a new ministry in Bangalore that has asked for help in leadership training.

The Ministry Training Centres in Visak and Tirupathi both started with new disciples in June and a further visit is planned for November to conduct pastor conferences and leadership training.
