October 2011: India & the rest of 2011
Dear All,
Jean & I send our greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus.
It doesn’t seem like three months ago since our last update but much has happened (mainly in Canada). It was a privilege to work with St. Croix Christian Centre in St. Stephen, New Brunswick over the summer months and I hope that we made some good progress in a very difficult situation. The Church is currently forging ahead trying to focus on building relationships and equipping itself for the challenge that the Lord has for them in reaching their community with the gospel of the Kingdom.
Having returned home last month I realised that my time there was just as much for me as for the church there. Having transferred the lead elder position at Stockport over to Kevin Todhunter and ending my time as AOG Regional Leader, my time in Canada gave me opportunity to stand back and assess things. It was a great opportunity to not only minister, but also to read, pray and wait upon the Lord. It is amazing how much you hear when you stop running around doing, doing, doing!!! I feel in a really good place at the moment encouraging leaders of churches that are looking for relationship and practical help. It also gives me more time to concentrate on the ministry in India.
Bruce Millar and I are returning to Andhra Pradesh on 7 November with the objective of finding the trainers that I hope will develop into a Discipleship/ Church Planting Movement. Please pray that we identify the right people. We will be casting the vision in two different locations and looking for positive responses. We will be in Hyderabad on 7-8 November and then offering a third, optional, day for those who want to investigate the process further. We will then travel to Eluru to repeat the exercise on 15-17th. During this time at Eluru we will also be graduating the students from this year’s batch from the Ministry Training Centre in Pakala (Tirupathi). We will also be doing ministry in villages around there, encouraging churches and, hopefully, visiting our Childrens’ home in Tanuku.
Please pray for the following:
Please continue to pray for Hayley – although a little improved, still suffering with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and now just two months left of her pregnancy. Next time I write we should have a new grand-daughter!!
Pray also for our home church in Stockport as we develop our new facility (ex-Working Men’s Club in Cale Green) into another Life Centre.
In what remains of 2011 I will be ministering in our home church in Stockport and also in Barrow and Workington. These churches are attempting some really exciting things and it is a privilege to support them in what they are doing.
Many thanks for your brilliant support in every way. May His Kingdom come and His will be done as we partner together in these exciting days.
The peace of the Lord,
Viv & Jean
